Kids and staff
We are required to keep distance between the adults in the Centre, and to promote physical distancing between the children during their daily activities.
Staff provide ample room for children to spread out in their spacious classrooms and outdoor play areas.
We also provide as much opportunity as possible for children to be in smaller groups. Please know your children’s comfort and care continue to be our priority.
Brighling staff wear masks at all times when in the presence of the children, indoors or outdoors. This includes travel in our school transportation vans, in which the children wear masks too, due to the inability to maintain sufficient physical distance.
Parents and other visitors
During the pandemic, only our children and staff are allowed inside the Centre during open hours, to minimize potential viral spread.
Drop-off and pick-up
Each morning, parents bring their children to their own classroom door, where they are greeted by our staff.
Parents do not enter the Centre, and families who may arrive at the same time are required to maintain a minimum of 6 feet of physical distance between families until their children are safely inside.
At the end of the day, parents pick their children up from the classroom door, once again maintaining physical distance from others.
While we can’t do all our regular activities during this pandemic (for example, we don’t sing, so we can minimize the transmission of air droplets), our staff are full of creative alternatives and our kiddos continue to learn and have fun every day.
Brightling Childcare Academy is located on Treaty 1 territory and the traditional homeland of the Metis Nation. We respectfully acknowledge the Indigenous ancestors of this land, and affirm our commitment to creating an equitable community on it.
