We all want our little ones to develop a comfort with math. Whether they end up studying advanced mathematics in university or not, they will need to understand many mathematical concepts to be able to navigate their daily lives and manage their personal affairs.
At Brightling, we incorporate mathematical concepts into our activities for children in every classroom, at every age level.
That includes our infants, whose days include all kinds of numbers: we count fingers and toes; we sing counting songs; we read favourite books like The Three Bears, and we group our toys in various ways.
You don’t need to be a math teacher to be able to help your child learn to be comfortable (and even to love!) math… and it doesn’t even have to feel like “learning” to them.
For ideas on how you can do this for your child, read this article from the Australian parenting website raisingchildren.net.au. Every little bit helps!
